About Us

Horst and Paula met in New York in 1962 and the same year were married. Together they opened their first restaurant, The Black Forest Inn, in Stanhope, New Jersey in 1969. In 1979 they moved to San Diego and opened the Kaiserhof Restaurant off Adobe Falls Road.

When the opportunity arose in 1992 they moved their restaurant to 2253 Sunset Cliffs Blvd. and at the same time their son, Peter, joined the family owned business. Together after 22 years they offer the Best German Cuisine in San Diego.
